Low signal strength
Inadequate site preparation with a WiFi analysis
Site planning with WiFi analyzer
The FW series controllers use a signal strength reading called RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator). These values are displayed as a 0-100% signal strength. With controllers running firmware higher than 1s, the RSSI value is calculated based on the table below. The -dBm value is a measureable value based on the transmitting device sending out it’s signal at 1mW. Based on what is received is the amount of signal “loss” measured.
-40dBm = 100% RSSI
-51dBm = 74% RSSI
-61dBm = 50% RSSI
-72dBm = 24% RSSI
-80dBm = 5% RSSI
-82dBm = 0% RSSI
In controllers that are running firmware equal to 1s or lower the scaling is linear based on the values in the table below.
